How many back surgeries are medically necessary?

Although it’s true with any surgical procedure, this is especially true when it involves your back:

Get A Second Opinion.

Maybe Even A Third Opinion.

Although one hopes that only a few surgeons engage in questionable surgeries, often the procedure doesn’t quell your symptoms.  Or they may come back.  And back surgeries are rife with complications, some of which your insurance (if you have it) may not cover.

Doctors, like accountants,  should adhere to the ethical standard that not only must one engage in a conflict of interest, one must avoid even the appearance of such a conflict.
